This report is not about Music. It is about Hook SYSTEM SECURITY!
I have never associated with Gravatar or Avatar but yesterday I saw it. This is major security breach. I asked Hooktheory for help but Leo said it came in thru an Ad. This is very bad, ugly and unprofessional. I don’t get help from Leo yet. He said I have to go into Gravatar or Avartar and delete. It’s not that simple. Beside it is deep into My root Hook Account.
There is a grey button below Avartar section that reads “Delete Account”. I don’t know if that for my Hook account or just Gravatar.
Anyone has tools to fix this?
the gravatar image shows up whenever you use the email address you used for the gravatar account. my gravatar image from 15 years ago shows up in “personalized” ads all the time LOL. has nothing to do with hookpad or generally any other web site. just go to your gravatar user profile and delete it etc as desired.

You can also just change it in your forum profile.

Click the pencil icon, and you can choose a generic letter (looks like you already did that), Gravatar, or custom.) And if you do click that, there is a link to Gravatar where it can be fixed.
This isn’t a major security breach. It’s an extremely common feature of many websites, and all Discourse forums.

Hi Thanks. I did click the Pencil that led to System assigned profile picture (selected). The next bullet is Gravatar (blue text). When I clicked that paragraph it showed red error that “We could not find Gravatar…”. So basically I still can’t get rid of Avatar inside my Hook Account. I don’t remember when I subscribed and I don’t understand why Hooktheory allow 3rd party to reside in my Account. Again, there is a button under My Account below Avatar, I want to know if I can delete Gravatar there or it will delete my entire accout.

I never I subscribed to Gravatar so there is no Gravatar User profile to delete. I just want My Account page clean without statement or warning from Avatar. If it is subsystem under Hooktheory I can understand the co-existence. But Leo (Hook Support) said it is not.
