When I use the backspace or del key in the lyrics pane, or even when I use ctrl+c or ctrl+v, the page SOMETIMES goes completely white. As far as I know, when it happens, hookpad becomes non-responsive and I can’t save. I’m on Firefox in Windows.
Hi, I’m sorry for these crashes! Yes, a white screen crash is always the worst case scenario. Then Hookpad is completely crashed and you can’t even save anything. Did you know that you can recover some parts of your work from an auto-backup?
Now to fix those crashes, do you have any idea what you’re doing to get those crashes? Are you deleting blocks of text or just a single character?
Thanks very much!
Dennis
So far I haven’t been able to reproduce the problem. If it happens again I’ll report back.
From memory, this usually happens when I have something selected in the lyrics pane and use backspace or a ctrl+ command.
I’ve had a few more crashes, but it seems to be project dependent. And pretty random. But it always seems to happen when I delete something, whether selected or not, using backspace or delete.
That being said, I did notice three more issues with the lyrics window :
- When I use the scroll wheel to move around in the lyrics - when the lyrics window is not in focus - and then select a spot where I want the cursor to appear, the lyrics pop back up to the start, which is quite annoying.
- When using tab to shift syllables, and they end up beyond the confines of a section, the remaining syllable shifts get carried over to the next section, but not the words
- Sometimes syllables get cut off, as in won’t display completely, on the measure line in the main window. I couldn’t get this to occur predictably, sometimes they get cut off, sometimes they display just fine into the next measure.
Thank you very much for these detailed notes! I’ll take a look at it.
