Shrinking vs Pushing a neighbouring note

What am I doing wrong ?

I am unable to INCREASE a note and PUSH it’s neighbouring note/s.

I can either REDUCE a note without impacting the adjacent note,
OR
I can REDUCE a note and INCREASE the adjacent note,
OR
I can INCREASE a note and the adjacent note is REDUCED,

but unable to INCREASE a note and push it’s neighbour/s

  • To shrink neighbor, hover over edge and drag
  • To push neighbor, hold alt/option then hover and drag

PS I am from New Zealand
and with spell neighbour with a u

@downunder, this is a mistake in our documentation. In Hookpad 2.x, you need to be in “text” entry mode to get this functionality.

Preferences -> App Preferences -> Entry Mode.

Note that text entry mode is a totally different beast than the default entry mode, so be aware! If you hover your mouse over the entry mode options, a little description of each will appear.

Default mode: When inserting, notes/chords to the right stay fixed and can be overwritten. When deleting, notes/chords to the right stay fixed.

Text mode: When inserting, notes/chords to the right are pushed forward. When deleting, notes/chords to the right are pulled back. Empty space is not allowed and must be filled with rests.

Hookpad 1.x only had text entry mode and the docs must not have been updated to reflect that this only works in text mode.

Cool thanks for your help
