Play Chords without the Populating?

Is there a way to play chords by hitting the chord selection and having them not populate in the fields?

As well, it would be great to have an option like in the Scaler plugin
where you can either audition various chord ideas with computer keyboard or midi keyboard to test ideas.

You could do this with a completely full line. It will play the chord, but not put anything there.
