When I import a lead melody (a clean MIDI file) and shift it up a third, both the original and the new melody play back together. Additionally, when I try exporting, both melodies are included in the export. Sometimes, I can’t edit the melody at all—the notes just get stuck. I didn’t have this problem before, but it has seriously disrupted my workflow over the past few months. I noticed that someone else reported this issue a while back. I would greatly appreciate it if you could look into this again. (M2 MacBook Pro)
Hi, I’m sorry for that!
I couldn’t replicate the problem on my machine. Is there anything special about those midi files?
I’ve send you a PM so we can try to debug these issues.
Regards!
Dennis
Hi Dennis,
Thanks for your reply. I’ve been using MuseScore to clean up my MIDI, as it quantises on input, but I’ve since learnt that the latest version, MuseScore 4, doesn’t quantise the MIDI, only the notation. I’m going to install MuseScore 3 again, clean my MIDI through it and see if that solves the problem. I’ll get back to you.
Chris
I was able to debug this. It had nothing to do with any of the midi files on your side. We just had a loop running that produced to much notes when there were already notes in the song project before the midi import. It should work properly after Hookpad’s next update.
Regards and thank you for your help!
Dennis
That’s great news. Keep up the good work
Btw, can you give me an indication of when Hookpad might be updated?
It shouldn’t take that long. Usually you’ll find the Hookpad Release Notes thread somewhere on the top of the forum showing the latest updates and bug fixes.
