It would be so great if it was possible to give custom names to the instrument parts of a song especially while exporting to midi. I can often not relate exactely what a certain track was in hookpad once it is on the MPC (my workflow is Hookpad > MPC > Ableton).
Thank you for your request but I don’t think this is possible the way Hookpad works right now. As our instruments are currently located in different bands, often with different rhythm patches we wrote an algorithm which tries to combine all identical instruments. For example, if you have three bands, each with a pop bass, one playing quarter notes, one half notes and the third one a pop rhythm patch, you don’t want to have these instruments as three midi tracks, but instead combined as one bass track.
Now to name all instrument track we would need to create a huge list with all the instruments from all the bands in your song and you could try to rename each one of those. I think that you can guess which instrument belongs to which midi track better in a DAW when you can see the midi then from a written list.
