It was extremely convenient for me to write without having to place rest notes as I could just drag move the notes as I pleased, but this isn’t possible anymore. Is this a bug or was this a recent update?
One thing you can try is looking at the preferences and make sure that the entry mode is set to “table”. If it’s set to “text” you can’t have any gaps so you also can’t move notes without creating rests.
