“3 songs (0.018%) contain i → iv”, claims Hooktheory’s search by chords function.
Only “0.1%” of songs use the minor chord “i”, according to Hooktheory.
It is utterly confusing that the minor scale breaks Hooktheory’s search by chord function.
And the wording of the search by chords function implies that virtually no one writes in minor. 0.1% of songs use the tonic chord in minor? Right.
Just try to search for any common progression in a minor scale- the search by chord function will inevitably break. As I only write or play songs in minor keys/modes, this bias towards the major scale is completely depressing. What an awful, terrible oversight.
