Available Chords

Continuing the discussion from On implementing the augmented fifth:

Hi, I think the Hookpad staff need to re-evaluate what both the contributors and the users are looking to achieve from this site.
Firstly addressing the point of an uncluttered interface.
If that is referring to the tools provided to complete the analyses I see little value in limiting the available chords as it will only create disillusionment for potentially more contributors.
Unfortunately the output from these analyses as it stands is currently illegible in some cases (read cluttered) due to the constraints of jamming long chord names in tiny one and two beat passages.
So for the user who is looking to learn something, if they cannot read clearly the analysis at a glance, they might choose to play the piano version which is often unsatisfactory due to unavailable chords and you might have missed an opportunity to create a new subscriber.
Would it not be simpler to give us all the chords we want as contributors and to write something in the code to label these chords as N/F or similar so at least the contributors would have the satisfaction of a thorough analysis, the piano versions would sound properly, rather than try to code in the modes of the melodic and or harmonic minor scales. I understand from what I read above that this consideration is connected to the the Trends API but from my current perspective that is already broken as it returns a lot of irrelevant data and completely omits others.

Without me knowing what the vested interest of the owners is it is hard for me to make the following statement as I do not know what the ramifications of it are but I would suggest a complete rewrite of the the entire code before the site becomes much more unmanageable.
I think you have a great idea here, if you were to create a free internet data base that satisfied the wants of the contributors to create thorough and complete analyses, that would in turn pique the interest of more potential customers to buy your software.
