Hi ! How can I transfer 4 chords at once from the search window to the piano roll of the hookpad program? So far, it’s a long time to carry only one chord.
Hello! I’m not sure exactly what you’re looking to do. Do you mean that you’re searching for a chord, perhaps by name with “Search” or by notes with “Tone Sets,” and would like to enter multiple chords at once from the search results?
If so, unfortunately I’m not aware of a way to do that since the search menu closes as soon as a chord is selected. Presumably the four chords are relatively similar, if they’re all coming up in the same search, so perhaps it would save a little time to copy/paste the first chord then make minor modifications to it. If the chords are not too complex, you might also find it faster to enter them from the Chord Modifications menu on the side—it’s powerful once you learn how to use it.
Hi, and thank you for your question!
There are multiple ways to input chords in Hookpad:
If you only need diatonic chords from your selected key you can just select the chord arrangement section in your project and type the numbers from 1 to 7 on your keyboard. You can also click on these chords here:
If you need embellishments, inversions, secondary and borrowed chords you can tweak your existing chords in the chord properties.
If that isn’t enough, you can search for one chord at a time in the search area.
You can’t search for a whole progression, but if you hit the enter key the first chord will be inserted into your song and the search term will be selected so you can type another chord immediately. So that turns out to be pretty fast.
And there is also the progressions tab where you can insert standard chord progressions with one click.
Please let me know if this helped!
