Hi. I’ve made this TheoryTab The Legend of Ashitaka by Joe Hisaishi Chords, Melody, and Music Theory Analysis - Hooktheory. It’s mostly in 4/4, but one bar is 5/4. Because of that, the system somehow bugs and the last bar is 1/4 instead of regular 4/4 (I can’t set the end line properly). Pls fix that.
Hm, I’m not sure what exactly the problem was. I synced the tempo with tempo change markers and changed the 5/4 back to a 4/4. I don’t think there is an extra beat in it. They just play it a bit slowly, hence the tempo changes. Anyway, for me the start of every bar is aligned with the music. We can’t do more as there is no way to account for all the micro-tempo changes an orchestra has.
But thanks for showing me this great piece of music!!!
Regards!
Dennis
The problem is that if one wants to make a tab for a piece that has mixed time signatures, something like this happens. I’m unable to change the position of this pink indicator at all. In the case of this piece, 5th bar (in this Tab) is actually in 5/4 (depending on the version), but since I omitted the countermelody, what you did works as well. I have very similar problem with “Floods” by Pantera (the outro is in 3/4, but there is a one bar in 4/4).
Yeah, something is off with the sync,I the end of the song was different depending on where I started the YouTube playback. I have to investigate that.
I was able to set the end marker one beat to the right by making the last chord longer. Somehow I wasn’t able to position it in the middle of nowhere. I’ll investigate this as well. Thanks for bringing this up!
In my experience, having a meter change in a Hookpad project causes the movement of the end marker to be limited only to the right. You can still freely move it to the left. This even happens when you “change” the meter to the one the song was already at (e.g. 4/4 to 4/4).
A workaround that has reliably worked for me is adding empty measures at the end of the section until you’re able move the marker to where it’s supposed to be. One measure seems to be enough in a lot of cases.
