I’ve been trying to create this progression to use as a practice piece, but struggling!
F root, Ddim 2nd, A root, Dm 1st and back to F root!?
Started with F and then tried borrowing and setting inversions and it just seemed to be doing all sort of strange things… It’s becoming more effort than it is worth?
Can anyone help… and please explain how?

I assume you were having trouble with the Ddim (can borrow this from Dorian) and A (use the “V of” option to get this).
If logical deduction and trial and error don’t work for me, I find the chart that someone posted at Symmetric visualization of harmony very useful. If you spend some time figuring out how it works, it is a great timesaver.
