search function on the database is not functioning. I type into the search bar, and no suggestions show up. not even when i press enter

I’ve been having the same issue since Friday
I have the same issue and it seems to be related to overlays not appearing. I cannot add theorytabs to any of my collections or add genres to tabs either, likely for the same reason. Clicking “Add to My Collections” or “Add Genre” does nothing.
It looks like this is due to browser security restrictions (same-origin-policy/CORS problems with cross-origin requests between www.hooktheory.com and search.hooktheory.com). It’s reproducible on the TheoryTab DB page in Firefox, Chrome, desktop Safari, and iOS Safari.
Ah, never mind the CORS stuff; it looks like search.hooktheory.com is down in general (returning 502 Bad Gateway) and the CORS error is just a side effect.
Good theory, though, and I learned that apparently you can’t disable CORS in Edge on a per-site basis.
Adding on to this the special searches (search by chords, advanced search, and metrics) still work. All of these (presumably) don’t use search.hooktheory.com as its URL does not show up as the site loads.
This also means you can use the advanced search as a temporary workaround, as that lets you search by song name and/or artist.
