Since Chord Search allows searches without specifying the scale, it would be very helpful if the feature used major-centric nomenclature.
With the current scale-centric nomenclature, the same roman numeral refers to different chords depending on the scale, which is not very useful when simultaneously searching multiple scales.
For example if I’m looking for tabs that use the ♭VI - ♭VII - I progression, I would have to adjust the labeling multiple times to account for the different scales, i.e.:
- VI - VII - I for Locrian, Phrygian, Minor and Phrygian Dominant
- VI - ♭VII - I for Harmonic Minor
- ♭VI - VII - I for Dorian and Mixolydian
- ♭VI - ♭VII - I for Major and Lydian
