Lead sheet prints in bass clef and not treble clef

When I use the download feature for the Lead Sheet; it comes out printed in the bass clef; rather than the treble clef. What am I doing wrong?

Hi @Shotglass,

The lead sheets print in the clef that is most natural for them, so if your melody is printing in bass clef, it’s likely that the register is on the lower side. One easy way to fix this would be to open the band tool and to transpose the playback up an octave.

Alternatively, if you’d like to us the current register but use a treble clef, you can always download the .ly file (Lilypond source) and compile it yourself (choose this option from the preferences menu). Since sheet music typesetting is not one-size-fits-all, this would give you the flexibility to manually adjust things like clef, number of measures per system, etc.
