For a few weeks now, the Hookpad screen has been going dark whenever a click occurs. Everything seems to work, but I can’t see it, and I have to restart the page without saving my work.
When this happens, it’s often impossible to work.
I use Hookpad with Google Chrome.
But I just found out that the same thing happens with Hookpad installed.
And it happens in both dark and light modes.
I’m running Windows 10
we’re sorry for that. Thank you for the information you provided. If Hookpad is crashing I think there is some edge case of our logic wrong. I might have to depend on you to find the combination of events that is triggering the crash if that’s ok for you.
Is that happening for all your projects or just a specific one. If it’s a specific one, can you tell my its name so I I can look it up?
Where exactly are you clicking on to make it crash?
It seems to happen in every project, and no matter where I click, I can’t figure out what combination of movements causes the screen to go dark.
I’d like to point out that this isn’t a crash, but rather a blackout, but everything seems to still be working fine, except I can’t see anything and have to restart Hookpad.
If I find out anything else, I’ll let you know, but try to figure out what it could be, because if it continues like this, it’ll be difficult to continue working.
So to understand it right, you can still use your keyboard commands to start/stop playback, save, write notes etc. but you’re just seeing a black screen?
Might be a silly question, but can you still see your browser or anything of your windows operating system or just a black screen?
If you have Hookpad in light mode, will you get a white screen inside your browser’s window or will the whole screen go black?
It’s just as you say. I can use Hookpad with the keyboard, but without seeing it. The browser and Windows system are intact and display perfectly.
If the Hookpad interface is white, the opaque screen is white.
The only thing that’s dark is the Hookpad interface; everything else is fine.
And the same thing happens with the installed app.
My apologies for the translation and the time difference.
No apologies needed! I must say from what you’re describing I have no idea why those crashes are happening.
One thing you could try is to open Chrome’s console. You should be able to do that with SHIFT + CRTL + J on a Windows machine. And if you can see any messages in red when your crash occurs, you could take a screen shot and send it to me.
I know this seams like the development work that we should do ourselves, but with unexpected crashes like these I have no idea where I could even start to debug this, so I might need some help there.
