Today, when I started editing my songs I realized that the spaces that contained no melody or chords were grey. But, unfortunately, every time I try to add a melody or copy and paste parts of the melody into these grey areas It just won’t go. And if a add a new measure in the middle of the song it already shows up grey and if I delete the grey part, the melody that comes after is pushed back, messing up my song when I just want things to stay where they were. It’s impossible to create spaces between the melody.

sorry for your trouble. Could you please check in the preferences if the entry mode is set to text or table?
Setting it to “table” might be a solution.
