Chord progression lock

Hi,

I don’t think I missed any hidden features but if I did please let me know but I really miss that you can’t lock the chord properties.

Let’s say I want C Maj 7th plus add13. I would click a chord or press a key to load it but then when I got to the next chord the properties will have reset. So if I want to keep the same sort of tonality I need to re-click all the buttons again which can get very frustrating if you feel inspiration and just want to rapidly build a progression.

So a Lock Chord Properties would be super useful so you can stay in that tonality as you keep building your chord progression.

Hi and thanks for the report! I played a bit around with entering chords and it seams that this is half a bug and a feature request. So for me, if I first select a chord and then place the cursor, all the chord properties are still selected and I can write a new chord with exactly the same properties. The only problem is that after writing that chord, nothing is selected anymore and like this the chord properties are reseted, too and the next entered chord is a basic one again.

Perhaps we can solve this by selecting the last entered chord automatically. I’ll look into it.

Regards!

When I select a chord and then place the cursor in any empty measure, it automatically resets the chord properties. It’s only when I select the chord and then place the cursor in any measure with chords or rests in it that the properties will remain the same when placing the cursor in an empty measure.

I like that idea, but I think there should be an option in the settings to turn that off, as having to reset the chord properties after every chord you enter could easily become very annoying as well.

Yes, that’s right. Perhaps we can create some kind of toggle button which either forces to have the properties of the chord before or empty default props if no other chord is selected.
And we have to fix the current behavior to always copy the properties of a selected chord, no matter if the cursor is at the middle or the end of the song.
