I’m currently working on level 1 of ‘Level Up’ of Chord Crush and it’s great, especially the ability to change sounds. But I have one issue.
On Level 1 the goal is to learn to independently identify the IV and the V. If for example, the chord changes between I, IV and V, I can easily tell what the ‘I’ sounds like so must work out IV and/or V. But most of the time, one of the instances of these is given as an answer within the question. So for example, if this is the IV, I can then quickly deduce that anything that sounds the same is also the IV and anything that sounds different is V! But this isn’t helping me learn to differentiate myself. Whenever a question comes around that doesn’t include the answer then this is more challenging but they are quite infrequent.
I have taken to doing my own work-around and closing my eyes when I first listen so that I don’t see them, but its unfortunate I need to do this. It would be much more effective and valuable to progress to have a whole level within level 1 when only the ‘I’ is given in the answer and all other chords must be worked out.
