Apparently, this is a bug that has ostensibly been fixed since 2022, but I am experiencing the issue of the YouTube video not synchronizing with the set tempo. In the standard piano mode playback, the tempo of 90 BPM works perfectly well, but upon testing the synchronization of the YouTube video clip, the marker suddenly runs (at approximately 34 BPM.) How do I resolve this? I want to post this tab on Christmas Eve and today is December 21st. I worked very hard on this tab and I want it to synchronize correctly to justify my efforts. Thank you.
The pace of the transport cursor during youtube playback is automatically calculated, the project BPM doesn’t have any influence on that.
If the youtube playback isn’t working as expected you likely didn’t sync correctly. If you post a screenshot of your Hookpad project I might be able to tell you what’s wrong.
The colored bars at the start of measure 1 and the end of measure 8 are the sync points. These need to correspond to the timestamps you set at the bottom. In other words - the orange marker needs to be dragged to the end of the section, or it’s not going to be in sync.
Oh yes, I should have realized that. Thanks.
But actually, even with the orange marker being at the end, I am still experiencing the same issue, but to a lesser degree. The YouTube playback marker is still slower than the BPM of the transcription. Frustratingly, I had had it synced earlier, and when I went to add a tempo change (because the song wavers in its tempo a bit,) the synchronization seemed to undo itself.
Just remove the tempo change if it was decently in sync without it. Accounting for subtle fluctuations in tempo by using tempo changes is very tricky.
It’s something that I’m willing to put myself through. I like a challenge and I want this song to be synced and transcribed as well as possible.
There might be still some sync problems in projects with tempo changes. I created some fixes a while ago, but I think I might have overlooked something. I’ll check it again.
