Can’t say how much I love hookpad but it would be event better if certain things were possible without using chatGPT or Scaler 3 (Modulation feature).
I often want to write songs in a minor scale and change to a major scale during chorus (scenes of sadness and despair which get resolved during the chorus). I’m no musician and modulation from one key to another is really difficult for me (I can actually not even follow a chatGPT explanation lol). So it would be fantastic if I could insert a few bars between parts written in a different key and let hookpad make sugestions for modulation-paths (would be great to have different styles like modern, classic, short, long etc.). I’m sure this was a feature everybody would love.

Hey John, thank you for your suggestion. I’ll have to think about this, basically we would need some kind of modulation helper tool which ideally would explain what it’s doing along the way. I’ll add that to our feature request list.
I think modulating is both easy and complex at the same time. Either you can jump from on key to the next without doing anything in-between which can have a dramatic effect. If that doesn’t work, all you need to do is to slowly implement the accidentals from the new key into the key you’re currently in.
So going from C-Major to D-Major you need to add a F# and a C# somewhere along the way. Now we look for a chord that has C in as third and change that to C#, so instead of A-minor we use A-Major. After that we can play D-Major which uses the F# and just like that we have implemented both F# and C# and have modulated to D-Major.

Thanks a lot Dennis! Always appreciate your answers.
I was overthinking this a little perhaps and didn’t even had an immediate jump in mind… will try this right now in a song…
