If songs with offensive titles and lyrics have to be included (which I’d rather they weren’t) in the Theory Trends section, I would request that we be provided with the capacity to block them from our classes.
I got a hell of a shock browsing through examples with one of my Year 7 classes only to see the words “F*CK YOU” slowly scroll past with way too much attention drawn to it (it was repeatedly displayed in bright colours).
It’s bad enough that songwriting is being so repulsively degraded by so-called lyricists using moronically obscene and pornographic language, but I personally find it out of order younger ages groups to have to be unwittingly subjected to such vile language and attitudes. If that got back to a sensitive parent, I’m the one who is initially in the line of fire. It’s not acceptable.
