i think a good feature wood be to able preview melody notes while a chord progression is looping , that way you can come up with a melody and then hit record when you have something decent to lay down.

Hey Liam,
I think we already have your requested functionality in Hookpad. If you press the “Lock” button (next to the guides) button in the top of the screen you can play on your keyboard or midi controller without entering any note.
